World Population Day
Yesterday was World Population Day, an annual event to raise awareness of global population issues. This year, UNFPA, the United Nations Population Fund chose the day to kick off a yearlong push to improve investment in adolescent girls. Girls around the world face greater challenges than their male counterparts. Yet with the largest percentage of youth in history, we - as a global population - have a great opportunity to improve the future of humanity by improving the fortunes of girls around the world right now.
With this in mind, we worked with the Latin & Central American office of UNFPA to kick off a campaign to increase investment in adolescent girls.

We created a modular system of blocks for 9 key investments, which can be rearranged or used separately. Together, they represent the 'building blocks' to a solid foundation for girls.
In addition to the primary Spanish, graphics were created in English and Portuguese.
For social media, we developed a campaign based on inviting cultural figures to post a photo of themselves when they were an adolescent, with a quote about one of the nine topics that helped shape who they are today.
